Intentional Interference with Contractual Relations

Intentional Interference with Contractual Relations occurs when a party acts in such a way to interfere with and disrupt the legitimate contractual relations of another.

The elements of intentional infliction of emotional distress are:

  1. A valid contract exists;
  2. The interfering party’s has knowledge of the contract;
  3. The interfering party intentional acts in an effort to disrupt the contractual relationship;
  4. The contract is actually disrupted; and
  5. Damages results from the disruption.
